Meadowsweet is a native deciduous shrub commonly found in moist areas. The shrub is an upright grower, sparingly branched with narrow, toothed green foliage. Clusters of delicate white flowers attractive to butterflies begin to bloom in mid-summer, and lasts for about 1-2 months before yielding ripe fruits in September. The little fruits contain pods which open to drop seeds. The woody, upright grower will reach 4-6 feet tall.
