Quick Overview

Sweetly fragrant, golden yellow flowers bloom in clusters along bare stems in mid-winter (January-February) before spring foliage emerges. Yellow petals are tinged with red at the base and calyx are bright maroon-red. Growth habit is upright with ovate-rounded leaves. Autumn foliage is yellow.

This clone received an Award of Merit in 1932 and was named by a botanist, Mike Grant, at Wisley. Fred Chittenden served as Director at Wisely from 1919-1931.
