LONICERA villosa var villosa
|
Description: Found growing on a beach in Maine by plantsman Bill Cullina, this small, native shrubby honeysuckle is an uncommon yet desireable addition to the native plant garden. Small tubular white flowers appear in spring, but the real appeal is the beautiful peeling bronzy bark and the tidy, shrubby habit. Pea-sized blue fruits appear in autumn.
