LONICERA hirsuta var. hirsuta
|
Description: We're pleased to offer this uncommon and uncommonly lovely vine native to the eastern US and Canada. Rounded, softly downy bright, green leaves and many bright yellow, flaring tubular flowers in 2-inch balls appear during late spring. Like many species, it blooms more heavily in sun. Variety hirsuta is the larger-flowered New England variety with tubes to one inch long. This manageable vine will twine up any suitable support. These are nursery-grown plants from cuttings from the New England Wildflower Society.
