|
Description: A popular cultivar that features showy 2" diameter golden-yellow flowers with dense bushy center stamens in June and July. Flowers are followed by reddish-brown fruit capsules that ripen in September, persisting into winter. 'Sunburst' is a compact, dense, upright, mounded deciduous shrub with attractive blue-green foliage that is semi-evergreen to evergreen in the southern part of its growing range and attractive exfoliating reddish-brown bark on mature stems. Native from KY to NC, south to GA, AL and TX where it typically occurs in rocky hills, limestone glades and barrens.
