Description: This highly ornamental small tree was found only once in 1770 along the banks of the Alatamaha River in Georgia by John Bartram. White, 3 inch, camellia-like flowers bloom from July through September. Its culture is similar to rhododendron; humus rich, acid soil with excellent drainage is required. Protect from strong winds.
