SORGHASTRUM nutans
|
Description: Mostly clump forming, this grass was once one of the most prevalent components of the tallgrass prairie habitat east of the Rocky Mountains. Grows upright, blooming in tall panicles in mid to late summer that remain attractive throughout winter. Some strains have been developed for soil stabilization and forage. In the sunny garden it is very adaptable and easy in a wide range of soil and moisture conditions.
