PYCNANTHEMUM hyssopifolium (flexuosum?)
|
Description: Superb species and prostrate clone of this aromatic native. If you've ever been frustrated that you cannot keep alive Mentha requienii, the source of the wonderful crème de menthe aroma, you will be pleased to know you can grow this. The aroma is almost the same. The soft, needle-like leaves provide very fine texture. Fluffy heads of tiny white achillea-like flowers in late summer attract innumerable beneficial predatory insects. Best grown in full sun it is quite drought tolerant and will slowly spread to form a dense colony. Could be used as a ground cover.
