Description: Deep green, shiny, narrow, leathery foliage with unique button flowers on branched stalks in late summer, outrageous texture! Typical bright purple liatris color in July. A magnet for butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Grows wild from Virginia west to Colorado and south to Florida and Texas. Liatris borealis was considered at one time to be a subspecies of this.
