Description: The leathery leaves of this sturdy east coast native are evergreen and form a tidy clump that do not spread. Once established it can tolerate periods of drought. Prefers moist, rich, well drained, neutral to acidic soils in full to partial shade. Tolerates drought very well once established. Needs protection from wind. Plant as an accent or mixed with bulbs and other native perennials.
