TAXUS canadensis
|
Description: Sprawling shrub with lance shapped, flat dark green leaves. Produces a soft, bright red berry-like fruit. These were grown from cuttings collected from wild plants in North Central Massachusetts. There they grow together to form a "feathery" groundcover between two and three feet high under Quercus rubra and Pinus strobus with companion plants of Viburnum lantanoides, Sambucus pubens, and Kalmia latifolia.
