PHYSOSTEGIA virginiana 'Vivid'
|
Description: This cultivar is a more compact, shorter and later blooming selection of this native perennial. 'Vivid' is less spreading than most forms, but nevertheless is a rhizomatous perennial that will eventually spread, especially in rich soil. Square stems are
stiff, carrying dense spikes of rich pink, snapdragon-like flowers that open from bottom to top of each spike. Blooms in late summer. Commonly called obedient plants because each individual flower will remain in the new position. Sometimes also commonly called false dragonhead. Best in sun to partial sun. Deer resistant.
