Description: This eastern native penstemon is found in the mountains of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. It is a woodland species, performing best in light shade to full sun in well-drained soil, and is very easy to grow. Purple stems bear pink to deep magenta tubular flowers from May through June. Allow it to self-seed to increase your investment. May be deer resistant, but no guaranteeing that!
