ACTINIDIA kolomikta 'Arctic Beauty'
|
Description: This vigorous deciduous vine is grown for its striking variegated foliage. Random mature leaves are brightly splashed white and pink as though they have been dipped in a can of paint. The display is as bright and colorful as you could want from flowers, and lasts all season. This vine is easy to grow in full sun or partial shade and average soil, climbing by twining stems up an arbor or along a fence. Young plants may show no signs of variegation, all green plants will begin to display color within a year or two. All kiwi plants are either male or female, females bear sweet edible fruits. This is a male variety needed for pollination to get fruits on your female plant if you have one. Note: this is a different species from the fuzzy kiwis found in the market, which are only hardy to Zone 7/8.
