FARGESIA murielae
|
Description: Introduced into cultivation in the US by plant explorer E.H. "China" Wilson 1910. He considered it to be one of the most beautiful of bamboos, naming it after his daughter Muriel. Fountain bamboo, like other fargesias, forms a dense clump of NON- INVASIVE culms. This species has a cascading canopy lush green leaves, as wide as the plant is tall. It performs best when planted in an area that gets afternoon shade dappled sunlight throughout the day. F. murielae will remain evergreen throughout the year, though it usually loses some leaves in October and November.
