|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Mike Dirr
Description: When Mike Dirr says "Cherry Dazzle™ has the potential to become the BEST woody plant ever introduced through my [breeding] program," we listen. It is the first true red, red, red compact Crape Myrtle. Shiny red buds open to cherry red flowers in July-August. The emerging bronze leaves turn dark green, eventually turning orange-red-purple in autumn. Leaves are highly resistant to mildew and Cercospora leaf spot.
