Description: A beautiful and distinctive species often growing as a large multi-stem shrub or small shrubby tree. Fragrant, elegant, three inch white bells, each with a striking red boss of stamens, hang below the branches. Flowers open primarily in the early Summer, but continue intermittently until late Summer. Limbs arch up and out at about 45 degrees creating an open, graceful appearance. Great plant for the woodland garden, especially on a hill above a path or wall, where one can admire the flowers from below. It is the national flower of North Korea, where it is called called
