MAGNOLIA kobus var. stellata 'Jane Platt'
|
Description: Named for the late Jane Platt of Portland, OR, who had received it as M. kobus var. stellata 'Rosea' and grown it as such for years. It eventually became apparent that it was not and is actually a superior clone. The flowers, lighter pink than 'Rosea', have 20-
30 tepals as compared to 8-12 of M. stellata 'Rosea.' It has been given an Award of Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society.
