FORSYTHIA x 'Happy Centennial'
|
Parentage: [(F. ovata 'Ottawa' x F. europea) X F18]
Description: This introduction is from Agriculture Canada, the same place that brought us the marvelous Explorer series of hardy roses, and the "musical" series of hardy weigelas. Oddly, it has been slow to gain popularity, having been introduced way back in 1987. Only recently has it become popular. It is useful for its compact, low habit to only about two and a half feet tall and a bit wider. It flowers heavily and early, having F. ovata in its pedigree. Flower buds are exceptionally cold hardy.
