SYRINGA vulgaris 'Atheline Wilbur'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Fiala
Description: An exceptional lilac, 'Atheline Wilbur' is hard to describe but exceptionally beautiful! Individual florets open irregularly, giving a multicolored appearance to the entire bloom. The large and very fragrant clusters contain unopened deep pink buds and fully opened florets, showing a combination of rose, orchid, and lavender. 'Atheline Wilbur' was hybridized by Father Fiala using
'Rochester' and 'Edward J. Gardner' as the parents. The multi- petalled characteristic of 'Rochester' is expressed in the unique double blooms.
