AMELANCHIER x grandiflora 'Princess Diana' PP6041(1987)
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Tom Watson of Cambridge WI from plants at Elm Grove WI
Description: Lovely as its namesake, this is a graceful multi-stemmed small tree with wide-spreading branches and multiple seasons of interest! Yellowish buds open to delicate white flowers in early Spring, 'Princess Diana' has disease-resistant leathery green leaves in Summer which turn a beautiful red-orange in the Fall. Birds feast on the bluish fruit. Amelanchiers are NE US natives which are tolerant of damp soil. These are planted with 3 liners per container to assure multi-stemmed form.
