PANICUM virgatum
|
Description: A major prairie grass of the Midwest that has also found a happy home in the Mid-Atlantic Coastal Plain. This native warm season grass is a very versatile plant that can grow under many varied cultural conditions, with an upright growth habit that reaches 4 feet, with its wonderful cloud of seed heads. Great fall color and winter persistence. All of the current Panicum selections on the market were selected from this species.
