Description: Native to rich, damp forests of the Eastern US, this evergreen clumping sedge has wide, textured leaves 8 inches long, resembling my seer-sucker wedding suit. The purplish-black flowers to 10 inches that are produced in March are held above the previous year’s foliage. Thrives in moist, organic soil, in part shade.
