VERONICA umbrosa 'Georgia Blue' (SOLD OUT)
|
Description: Here's a tough, drought and heat-tolerant, low-maintenance plant with outstanding seasonal qualities. Often misidentified as V. peduncularis and as a University of Georgia introduction. Wrong on both counts! The species is actually umbrosa, and the plant is a Roy Lancaster introduction from the Republic of Georgia (as in the former Soviet Union.) Mistaken identity aside, it's a wonderful groundcover or companion to Spring bulbs! Clouds of royal blue flowers appear in very early Spring, with small evergreen leaves that turn a handsome burgundy in the Fall, and form a 4-inch high mat.
