SILPHIUM integrifolium
|
Description: Smaller than its giant relatives, Rosinweed has 2-3-inch yellow flowers in 3-4-foot stems. The name "rosinweed" comes from the resinous sap which, when dried, was used by Native Americans as a breath-freshening chewing gum. Like other silphiums, it is tap- rooted, so don't plan on trying to move them once established!
