Description: Corydalis resemble Bleeding Hearts (Dicentra) with their ferny foliage and clusters of tube shaped flowers in Spring. There are a great many corydalis available today, and like dicentra, they are not all the same. Many dislike hot Eastern summers, especially many of the blue flowered varieties, but not all, and it can be confusing choosing among them. This one is a good choice. Corydalis elata has clear cobalt blue, wonderfully fragrant flowers on an upright plant, taller than the C. flexuosa group. Flowers are held well above the foliage. It also blooms later and does not go summer dormant. Good organic, well-drained moisture retentive soi
