CIMICIFUGA (NOW ACTAEA) ramosa (now simplex) 'Brunette'
|
Description: Yet another name change. We'll think about it! For now, it's still cimicifuga. One of the showiest native woodland perennials there is. A grouping is lovely in a moist, bright open woods situation. Dark black-brown astilbe-like foliage shrouds the dark stems setting off the fragrant white flowers rising up to a dramatic four feet tall above the clump. Foliage will be darker in more sun. Moist, well-drained humusy soil is best. Plant is slow growing and long-lived, takes several years to develop to potential.
