ACHILLEA millefolium 'Walther Funcke'
|
Description: Bred from the older variety 'Fireland', this is shorter & far less likely to flop like many of the taller varieties. Great foliage is fernlike and silvery. The blooms are composed of flat-topped clusters of many tiny brick-red flowers with yellow centers. Blooms start late June/July and remain colorful for quite a long time. Will rebloom if spent flowers are removed. Whole plant can be cut back to rejuvenate. Full sun and well-drained lean soils are best. Bred by Ernst Pagels of Germany, who began breeding achillea at the age of 90.
