HYDRANGEA macrophylla 'Mini Penny' PP#15,744
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Michael Dirr Parentage: seedling of 'Penny Mac'
Description: A precocious new introduction from the “Royal MajesticsTM” Series, 'Mini Penny' reblooms on new growth, so it will produce flowers in Zones 4 and 5. This plant has a compact growth habit, with small lustrous dark green, leathery leaves, pink/blue mop-head inflorescences, and decent mildew resistance. A two-year-old plant was covered with blooms in May, and when dead-headed, again in November. It originated as one of two seedlings of 'Penny Mac' a reblooming variety from Penny McHenry, Atlanta, GA.
