Hybridized/Introduced By: Bailey Nurseries, MN

Parentage: sport of Endless Summer

Description: A beautiful bold new variegated leaved hydrangea that arose as a sport of the phenomenally successfull "Endless Summer". Leaves are boldly edged in white, superficially similar to the old 'Mariesii' variegated, but the plant is much more cold hardy. Originally was to be sold as "Endless Summer Eclipse"('Bailipse'), but sadly, it seems to have lost the rebloom trait of it's famous parent, and was renamed to avoid confusion. Flowers also differ from "Endless Summer" in that they are lacecaps, not mopheads. Flowers will be blue or pink depending upon the pH and the presence of aluminum in the soil (which makes them blue). Should be the variegated hydrangea of choice for those in Zones 4 and 5.
