Description: As long as it has lean, dry soil, this sedge will grow just about anywhere! Appalachian Sedge is a fine-textured clumping sedge native to the Eastern US. Its narrow foot long green leaves lay in a mound six inches from the ground, with insignificant flowers. Wonderful in large groups, the rock garden, or perhaps a lawn substitute.
