Description: A rugged, attractive native shrub or small tree native to the dunes of the east coast. Early spring brings clouds of small white flowers before the leaves emerge; these later produce small, dark blue, tasty beach plums. A great ornamental with four seasons of interest. It is also salt tolerant, good for seaside planting.
'Oceanview' was developed from superior native populations by the USDA for “exceptional survival, seedling vigor, foliage abundance, high levels of disease and insect resistance, leaf retention, fruit production and cold tolerance.”
