MYRICA gale
|
Description: An interesting and valuable native shrub related to bayberry. Curiously, it has a range including most of the northern part of the northern hemisphere. It often grows around the edges of ponds and lakes, but doesn’t grow in the water. It can grow in ordinary garden conditions and makes a nice ornamental shrub. The foliage is fragrant and has been used to make tea, as a beer additive, insect repellent, air freshener, and many other things.
