MAGNOLIA xwieseneri
|
Parentage: (obovata X sieboldii) natural hybrid
Description: Close your eyes and imagine a warm summer evening filled with an intoxicating pineapple fragrance! Open them, and you behold a lovely small tree with creamy flowers. Initially upward-facing and cup-shaped, they eventually reveal a central cluster of deep crimson anthers, produced over several weeks in May and June. It grows as a multi-stemmed large shrub or small broadly spreading tree.
