RHODODENDRON 'Golfer'
|
Parentage: (yakushimanum x pseudochrysanthum)
Description: Grow this one just for the foliage! 'Golfer' is a dwarf plant with outstanding persistent silvery frosted tomentum on its newer growth. Rose pink buds open to pink flowers in a flat truss which eventually fade to white. Warren Berg gave Jim Caperci the seedling in the late 1960's, and Jim named the plant to honor Berg's wife Pat, a well-known Seattle area golfer.
