Description: Introduced by Woodlanders Nursery, Aiken, SC, in 1979, this native is an upright evergreen with more tree-like form and open growth habit than typical. Leaves of 'Santa Rosa' are also larger, as are the white lemon-scented flowers. These attributes along with growth that approaches 3 to 4 feet per year make
'Santa Rosa' a desirable landscape plant. It has been rarely available due to the difficulty of rooting cuttings.
