KALMIA latifolia f. myrtifolia 'Elf'
|
Description: The first miniature cultivar to be released, in 1982, by Dick Jaynes and Briggs Nursery. Leaves and internodes are short, making for a reduced plant size, but not necessarily dwarf. Flowers are normal sized, typical wild type color, pale pink in bud, opening white. Can be distinguished from the other, newer dwarf varieties by the matte finished leaves, the others are glossy.
