Description: Our introduction. Ron selected this clone while canoeing around a small lake in Ashburnham Massachusetts. Sheep laurel grows abundantly around most of the shoreline and the canoe makes it easy to scan lots of plants when they bloom in early June for that special one. The color is raspberry-pink and varies little from plant to plant. This one seemed to have a slightly redder color, but more importantly it is a heavy bloomer. Also, the sheep laurel from this area tends to grow more shrub-like, growing about 3 feet tall, rather than the spreading groundcover the species usually is seen as.
