CORNUS kousa 'Kristin Lipka's Variegated Weeper' PP13,384
|
Description: Bob Lipka found this 2002 introduction among his collection of weeping kousa cultivars as a sport. It is the only variegated weeping kousa known. It is strongly weeping, dense, and moderate to fast growing. The leaves are irregularly margined, creamy white occasionally straying into the leaf center. Fall brings red color to the leaves with the white areas turning pink. Bob named the plant for his daughter who had lymphoma, but thankfully, is now in remission. Proceeds from the patent will go to Leukemia, Lymphoma Research Center.
