R. (AZALEA) DECIDUOUS 'June Flame'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: J. van de Sande/Rarefind Nursery Parentage: (calendulaceum x flammeum (formerly speciosum))
Description: This selection was obtained from Betty Cummins when the RareFind Nursery garden was first planted. We began propagat- ing it right away and have been enthusiastic about the way it grows and blooms. The original plant is 8' tall and this seems to be its ultimate height. It blooms in late May and into June with bright red and orange flowers, and puts on quite a show. We are also impressed with its strong growth habit; it produces branches that are twice as thick as those on other similar plants of the same size. Put this one on your good-doer list.
