CALLICARPA americana
|
Description: Native variety with large very showy violet purple berries in big clusters around the stems. The fruits are produced on new growth and mature in the fall. Plant grows 4-6 feet tall in sun to partial shade. It grows in an open shape, and is not particular as to soil. Calloway Gardens in Georgia has a gorgeous planting along the entrance. Oddly, it is also called French Mulberry, though it is neither! 4 x 4'.
