Description: This dwarf cut leaf birch looks just like a green cut-leaf Japanese Maple! It even has a weeping habit like a lace leaf maple! Dan Heims of Terra Nova Nursery found this seedling under a 50' Betula pendula 'Laciniata' and couldn't believe the combination of filigreed foliage and vigor. Do not confuse this with the look-alike, but whimpy Betula 'Trost's Dwarf'. We took a few of these to plant sales last Fall and they flew off the tables. People kept asking: How big do they get? Well, the answer is: Train to the height you want. 6' tall in 4 years.
