RHODODENDRON 'Hank's Mellow Yellow'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: H. Schannen Parentage: (Ginny Gee Open Pollinated, 1968)
Description: Think of 'Ginny Gee' but yellow, instead of pink/white, and you will have a good picture of this plant. I took seed from the original Berg plant over 35 years ago, and grew out about 100 seedlings. Only one turned out yellow. It completely covers itself with open-faced, yellow flowers; foliage turns bronzy in the fall. Can take sun. The habit is that of a flat ground cover. Excellent for bonsai or the rock garden.
