STEWARTIA rostrata

Description: A very rare Eastern Chinese species that most closely resembles our native S. ovata, but is much easier to grow. It is the earliest species to bloom, the white 2 inch flowers are surrounded by large reddish bracts in late May. Habit is upright-shrubby. Cutting grown from our garden, come see the parent plant!
