DECUMARIA barbara 'Barbara Ann'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Dirr
Description: Native climbing vine related to Hydrangea petiolaris, Climbing Hydrangea with similar flat inflorescences of white flowers. Named after Coach Vincent Dooley's wife by Mike Dirr and was "discovered" on the Dooley's property in Madison County, Georgia. The leaves are lustrous, light-reflecting dark green. In fact, the plant was growing with hundreds of other members of the species along a creek and could literally be "singled out" from 100 feet away.
