RHODODENDRON 'Peter Bee'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Berg Parentage: (hanceanum nanum, Cox yellow form X keiskei v. ‘Yaku Fairy’)
Description: Good yellow flowers stand out against dark green leaves which bronze in the winter. Compact but surprisingly tall, given the dwarf nature of both parents. Relatively new to the commercial scene, the hardiness is our educated guess based on other keiskei hybrids. We have known and admired this plant for the past 30 years in Warren Berg’s garden. About seven years ago Peter Cox suggested it be named and propagated. Berg named it 'Peter Bee', using his traditional “Bee” nomenclature to recognize Cox’s suggestion.
