RHODODENDRON micranthum
|
Description: Very different. Your neighbors won’t believe you when you tell them this plant is a rhododendron! It resembles a ledum, which has now been reclassified as a rhododendron, with a full truss of bell-shaped, tiny white flowers each only about one third of an inch long. Leaves are small (less than an inch) and narrow. Dense scales make the underside brown. Very few know this tough, hardy plant, but we have a handsome and thriving 30- year-old, specimen atop our hill in much sun.
