RHODODENDRON 'Yates Second Best'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: Yates Parentage: ('Mrs. H.R. Yates' X yakushimanum 'Koichiro Wada')
Description: What a terrible name for a first rate plant! We consider this far from being second best. It is a low growing plant with glossy bullate leaves that really set this plant off as special. The new growth is covered with a tan tomentum and the underside of the mature leaves retain a light orange indumentum. The flowers are pink to white and frilled with yellow spotting. All these features on an easy-to-grow plant put 'Yates Second Best' high on our list.
