Hybridized/Introduced By: unknown Parentage: (maximum x unknown)
Description: This plant originated from a chance seedling at Kelsey Highland Nursery in Boxford, MA. Roger Coggeshall propagated it and gave it away to many, including Summer Hill Nurseries in CT. Owner Mike Johnson had so many inquiries about it, he asked Roger if he could name it 'Independence', as it is still in bloom on July 4th. Plant and truss similar to 'Maximum Roseum', but young stems are very red and the flowers are much more colorful.
