RHODODENDRON 'Heritage Best Orange Salmon'
|
Hybridized/Introduced By: most likely Jack Cowles Parentage: (parentage unknown)
Description: Most likely this is a Jack Cowles creation dating from the time he ran horticultural operations at Heritage Plantation, the former Dexter Estate. We originally obtained two large plants of unknown parentage from the NJ estate of the late Elmer Morris, a long time Dexter rhododendron aficionado. These plants have shown no winter damage in over 18 years. It is extraordinary for its unusual pastel peach-colored trusses which cover a well-proportioned plant. It has medium green foliage with a slight hint of tan indumentum. Overall, it has proven to be an excellent and satisfying plant.
